Setting up my for first shoot...

I have been playing around all morning with props and setting up for my first in home shoot this weekend. I am doing Easter photos of my niece & nephew. They are definitely beginner.... I have never done this before. I'm best at outdoors and nature photos (& I'm not great at those). We will see how it goes. My dog Duke had to be my test baby for one of the sets.

Bethabara, Pilot Mountain, & Mount Airy

Today since my husband had to work I spent the day with my parents. We took a trip to a Bethabara, which is a Moravian settlement from the 1700's. We stopped by Pilot Mountain then went on to Mount Airy, where we went to the Andy Griffith Museum and rode by his childhood home. We had a fun day!

God's Beautiful Creations

I enjoy seeing the sunset from our bay window in the kitchen. Tonight I grabbed my camera & headed outside to snap a photo. I am so amazed at the beauty that God creates, words can't describe it. We are blessed, everyone is in some sort of way whether you realize it or not. Just seeing things like this makes life worth living and makes me feel wonderful!!!! & this is what life is about not about the cars, clothes, jewelry, how big your house is, or anything materialistic. Honestly I can say I'd be happy to live in a rinky dink trailer in the middle of the most beautiful land & I'd be the happiest girl in the world. Because it's not about the house, or how much I can impress anyone on this earth. People aren't who I want to impress, the only one I need to impress is God and you can't do that with a big house or flashy items. You do that with being thankful for his blessings and praising Him for all that He has done for us! I thank God for this sunset & being able to live in the country. I have my little country dream (a loving husband, my dogs, a little piece of land, and a roof over my head).

Take time to thank God for the things that really matter! If God's creations on earth are this beautiful I can't wait to see what Heaven will look like <3

Dogs are not my whole life, but they make my life whole

Marley is usually camera shy, but on this day he was posing for the camera lol. I love this dog. I adopted him from the SPCA about 3 years ago. I will never buy another dog from a pet shop. Rescuing them is the way to go. There are so many loving dogs that will put down, because no one wants them. God blessed me with sweet Marley. He was a great dog from the start, although it's apparent he hasn't always had someone to love him as much as we do. The SPCA obtained him from the dog pound where he was about to be put to sleep. Thank God for this sweet, sweet dog. My dogs are truly blessings. I love them unconditionally and some people may think it's crazy.... but I would do anything for my sweet doggies. They have ALWAYS been my best friend's no matter what. I have been through very depressing, lonely times in my life and my dogs were always there. They know when you're down, and they have a way of trying their best to lift you up.  I love my sweet babies!!!!!!

Boredom in my backyard

Since I got my Nikon P510 for Christmas I have been wanting to use it soooo bad. I love taking pictures of nature.... well pretty much I love taking pictures of anything! But I love the great outdoors, this is why I love the warmer months so much and can't wait for spring to arrive!
