Yesterday we had a cookout with our family. It was our nephew Skyler's first time in our pool. Since we got the pool I've been looking forward to seeing him in it.... he was a little frightened at first & it was chilly, but he ended up having a good time. Captured some CUTE pics of him.

1 year and counting...

HAPPY ANNIVERSARY to my best friend, soul mate, crazy loving husband. I swear I couldn't be happier than I am with you. You're always there for me and I know I can count on you for anything. We're so much alike it's almost scary, lol. JUNE 23, 2012 by far the BEST day of my life. The words I say can't begin to touch the subject of my love for you, it's indescribable. God answered many prayers when he sent you to be my husband. I'll love you always.... more and more everyday! I look forward to growing old with you. 1 YEAR AND COUNTING....

SUPER Moon!

Last night there was a "supermoon".

A supermoon is the coincidence of a full moon or a newmoon with the closest approach the Moon makes to the Earth on its elliptical orbit, resulting in the largest apparent size of the moon's disk as seen from Earth.

We opened our hive up for the first time since we got it on Saturday, and we have HONEY!  This excited me just a little....... well maybe a lot. It doesn't take much & if that makes me crazy then I'm just crazy :) lol. I can't wait to harvest our honey. I also can't wait to make candles and I have recipe for lotion made from beeswax, that I'll be trying. Today we will be a adding a super to our hive which means.... MORE HONEY to come!

The above video is amazing, almost makes me want to cry. It makes me love these bugs! Below are images I have captured. I am enjoying watching & listening to the cicadas. I was sitting outside this evening & there was one beside me on the ground calling out.

Sweet honeysuckle

I was walking around outside today snapping photos of the honeybees, when i discovered that we have a honeysuckle vine growing on our fence. I was just telling my momma earlier today how much I love honeysuckle & wish I had some. God is good. Little things make me happy! It brings back memories of when I was little. My bestfriend growing up that lived across the street had honeysuckle in her backyard and I can remember we would pick almost every bloom off & suck the sweet stuff out. It smells so sweet, I have honeysuckle tarts in my tart warmer, now I have the REAL stuff. I love it.
